Introduction

Hello, welcome to my home page. My interests include Artificial Intelligence, Computer programming in general, and Politics. Recently I started blogging again. I used to blog on MySpace, but I was unhappy with the MySpace interface. I now administer my own blog using the software, Pebble. I've been quite happy with the software so far.

Politically I'm a libertarian in spirit. I really only see government as a stop gap measure. We should constantly be looking for ways to solve problems without the use of force. The purpose of government should be to make itself obsolete.

I'm also a Bright if that interests you.

Software

I've decided to start posting software that I've written for my personal use. Some of this might be useful to others and preparing it for release provides some incentive to keep it clean. I will try to get the things I use most out here and start writing code that is suitable for this kind of distribution. I hope that it is useful for you.

Classical Genetic Algorithm implementation
This program implements a classical genetic algorithm that operates on fixed length binary strings. It is written to make it easy to change the problem it is directed toward, the selection strategy, or the crossover operator. It is still simple enough to allow new users of genetic algorithms the ability to grasp it quickly.
Time tracking software
I wrote this software to aid in my effort to increase the amount of time I spend on tasks that are important to me and to track the time that I stayed on task. This has been an aid to me, and I hope that it will be to you. It isn't a complete solution, but provides summary information only.
